Top 5 spring gear for littles

By Emily Hosie, Founder & CEO Rebelstork

With the arrival of Spring, it’s time to clear out the old so you can welcome the new. But Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a dreaded list of chores, instead, it’s the perfect opportunity for a fresh start, to renew and recharge - while spending more time outdoors.

As we venture out of hibernation, we have a chance to take stock of what we’ve been cooped up with throughout the winter (or longer), and begin to wrap our minds around decluttering, especially items our kids no longer need or have outgrown (sometimes a little too quickly!) From shoes and clothing, to toys and baby/kid gear, the piles keep growing. A spring clean-out session also makes room for the new seasonal things they’ll use to stay active and entertained outdoors.

Besides the regained space and mental clarity decluttering brings (speaking from experience as a mother of 2), the added benefit of outgrown gear is the welcomed opportunity to recoup some of the hard-earned money we spent on them, while extending the life of these much loved and much appreciated items.

Through Rebelstork, the business I founded, my team and I have had the pleasure of working closely with thousands of parents and their baby and kid gear. It's very easy for us to spot the shopping habits parents experience when the seasons are about to turn. With this knowledge, we curated this short list of our top spring must-haves in gear.

Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon

The classic full-sized Radio Flyer® wagon has become a symbol of childhood. The all-steel seamless body and 10” steel wheels with real rubber tires ensure this wagon is built to last for generations of family fun!

Joovy Bicycoo Balance Bike

For a lot of kids, the transition from a tricycle to a bicycle is a challenging one. The Bicycoo balance bike removes a step, getting kids used to cruising on two wheels right from the start. The Bicycoo is designed to be sturdy and just like a real bike, but easy for your child to maneuver as they develop their coordination and muscle memory.

Little Bot Wooden Balance Board

A beautifully crafted wooden balance board for kids will be their next favourite toy. From a rocking chair to a racetrack, the sky’s the limit on what the balance board can become! The minimalist design will blend seamlessly into your home decor. And of course, safety comes first with this product as it’s non-toxic and made from 100% beech wood.

Keenz Class Stroller Wagon

Is your little one starting to explore the world on their own two feet? If so, introduce them to the versatile fun of the Kinderfeets Cargo Walker - a toy that serves as both a storage wagon for toys and stuffed friends and a walker for newly mobile children. Kinderfeets Cargo Walker is an unrivalled option for your tiny tot! Once your child perfects walking independently, the back wheels can easily be removed to increase manoeuvrability.

Phil & Teds Sporty Inline Stroller

This fun lovin’ 3-wheeler can take you on all terrain adventures, as the manoeuvrability and handling are second to none with the added suspension the air filled tires have to offer. The fabric sling seat delivers not only an automatic lie flat bed for a newborn, but it’s also perfectly positioned inside the buggy frame, and sitting at the right height for perfect weight distribution to easily curb pop in and around town..., and as a new parent, one can never underestimate how many times you will be curb poppin’!

These items will grow with your child and will keep them entertained for hours. What’s even greater, for you the parent, is that they each have a long lifecycle and a high resale value so once they’ve been outgrown, consider reselling them with Rebelstork 😉!
