This is a recipe I learned to make when I was in elementary school, and ever since, it has become a quick and easy summer treat for me. Whenever I have an ice-cream craving or when I’m out of snacks to satisfy my sweet-tooth, this lovely customizable recipe is the perfect way to cool down during hot summer days!

Ingredients

Small Bag

  • 2 cups of milk or cream
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 small sealable bag

Big Bag

  • 2 cups of ice
  • 6 tbsp of sea salt
  • 1 medium to large sealable bag

Preparation

1. Add milk/cream, sugar, pinch of salt and vanilla extract in a small bag and seal tightly.

2. Add the ice and sea salt to the medium to large sealable bag.

3. Place the small sealed bag into the larger one containing the ice and sea salt and seal tightly.

4. Now comes the time to SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE – Shake the bag as hard as you can without causing any spillage for around 5 minutes or until you see it forming into ice cream.

5. Once the consistency has gotten thicker, remove the small bag from the bigger bag and make sure to rinse off any salt on the outer surface of the bag.

6. Empty out the contents of the small bag into a bowl, garnish with some sprinkles or fresh berries and enjoy!
