Honey soy glazed chicken wings

By Anthea Dawson

My kids all go bananas for chicken wings - they are fun to eat and make a huge mess, what could be better! This recipe is really easy to throw together on a school night and is also great to send as leftovers for lunch the next day. With a steaming bowl of rice on the side and a green veg of choice (in my house it’s broccoli), it’s a quick dinner winner. I also make this recipe with drumsticks and thighs.

Ingredients

MAKES 6 SERVINGS

  • 3 lbs of chicken wings
  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, mix together the chopped garlic, honey, soy sauce and barbecue sauce. Set 2 tablespoons of the sauce aside in a small bowl. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and mix together with your hands until the wings are well covered with the sauce. Season well with salt and pepper and mix again.

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the wings to the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the baking sheet and toss the wings with the remaining sauce and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through.

Serve and enjoy!
